Hispanic Skin Types
Hispanic skin care, like the skin care for any other race-based skin type varies from person to person. So, looking after your skin will depend on your individual skin type. However, there are some useful generalities when it comes to taking care of the brown skin. Here is a daily regime to suit this skin type:
• Wear at least an SPF-15 product Any type of skin - whatever the shade, whatever the texture - is subject to skin cancer without an additional, artificial SPF protection. So, use sunscreen or moisturiser with sunscreen added.
• Consider a mineral mask if your oily skin breaks out A good clay mask is a great tool in your beauty basket. Applied once or twice a week, a masque provides deep cleaning to your skin restoring the moisture and oil balance your skin needs to stay clear. A clay mask actually draws toxins and dirt from deep in your skin to the surface where they can be washed away.
• Avocado to the rescue Hispanic skin is often a combination skin type. It tends to develop dark spots and uneven pigmentation. Avocado treatments contain a myriad of nutrients and vitamins, and they help to moisturise, exfoliate and enrich the skin. Here is a recipe that can be easily prepared at home: In a blender, combine oatmeal, avocado, yogurt and papaya. Blend well. Massage on the face and neck in circular motion for a couple of minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
• Aloe Vera magic Folk remedies that are common in the Hispanic communities include Aloe Vera and lemon juice. Aloe Vera is used for dry skin, dark spots and scars. Lemon juice contains citric acid, an alpha hydroxy acid which helps with pigmentation problems.
